Notifications don’t work on Samsung

Follow these steps to restore notifications on Samsung devices.

1. Prevent apps from sleeping

One UI may put less-used apps to sleep to save battery, which can delay their notifications. Follow these steps to fix the issue:

  1. Open phone Settings
  2. Tap Battery
  3. Tap Background usage limits (or a similar option)
  4. Turn off Put unused apps to sleep
  5. Tap Sleeping apps and Deep sleeping apps
  6. Remove Sofascore app from these lists

2. Allow background data and modify battery usage

If you’re still not receiving Sofascore app notifications on your Samsung phone, check each app’s permissions to ensure nothing is restricted:

  1. Open phone Settings
  2. Tap Apps
  3. Tap Sofascore app
  4. Tap Mobile data
  5. Enable Allow background data usage
  6. Return to Sofascore app and tap Battery
  7. Set battery usage to Unrestricted

3. Check app notification settings

Check your phone’s notification settings to ensure app notifications are enabled:

  1. Open phone Settings
  2. Tap Notifications
  3. Tap App notifications
  4. Find the Sofascore app and make sure the toggle is on
  5. Return to Notifications and tap Lock screen notifications
  6. Make sure notifications are enabled for the lock screen.

4. Turn off do not disturb

Do not disturb on Android silences all notifications, which can make it seem like push notifications aren’t working. Make sure it’s turned off on your Samsung phone:

  1. Open phone Settings
  2. Tap Notifications
  3. Tap Do not disturb
  4. Make sure Do not disturb is turned off
  5. Ensure there is no schedule set to automatically enable Do not disturb

5. Clear app cache

  1. Open phone Settings
  2. Tap Apps
  3. Tap the Sofascore app
  4. Tap Storage
  5. Tap Clear cache
