How to activate Live Activities (iOS)

We’ve streamlined the process! You no longer need to manually toggle a Live Activity button at the bottom of the match page.

How do I enable Live Activities for a match?

Live Activities now turn on automatically based on your Favorites. Here is how it works:

  • Favorite Teams & Matches: If you have favorited a specific team or an individual match, a Live Activity will automatically trigger for that event.
  • Favorite Leagues: If you favorite an entire league (from our supported list below), a single Live Activity will automatically spin up to track up to 6 matches from that league at the same time.
  • Timing: The Live Activity will activate automatically if the event is already in your favorites, or if you add it to your favorites up to 30 minutes before kickoff or while the match is live.

Which sports and leagues are supported?

Currently, automatic Live Activities are available for the following competitions:

  • Football: Champions League, Europa League, English Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga, HNL
  • Basketball: NBA, EuroLeague
  • Baseball: MLB

How do I remove or dismiss an active Live Activity?

If a match is still ongoing but you want to clear your screen, you can easily dismiss the widget using a quick swipe gesture from your lock screen or by swiping down from the top of your home screen to open the Notification Center:

  • The Gesture: Swipe left on the Live Activity widget and tap Clear (or simply keep swiping all the way to the left) to remove it instantly.
  • Dynamic Island: If the activity is actively tracking at the top of your screen in the Dynamic Island, you can swipe left or right directly across it to collapse or hide the visual tracker.

⚠️ Note: Dismissing a Live Activity via a swipe only removes it for that specific match session. It will not remove the team or league from your Favorites, meaning you will still automatically get Live Activities for their future games.

Why am I not seeing Live Activities?

iOS limits how many Live Activities can be active at once. If you have multiple other apps (like ridesharing, food delivery, or other sports apps) actively using Live Activity space, iOS may prevent Sofascore from displaying ours. Try closing other active sessions if you run into issues.

If you don’t see Live Activities at all, please follow these steps:

  1. Open your phone Settings
  2. Search for Sofascore app
  3. Make sure Live Activities are enabled for the app
  4. Additionally, check if other apps are using live activity space, which might prevent the app from displaying it
