Notifications don't work on Android
Check App battery usage settings
When App battery usage is enabled, an app can continue running in background when you’re not actively using it. This allows the app to receive notifications from online servers to keep you informed at any time.
To make sure App battery usage is turned on, follow these steps:
- Long-press the Sofascore app icon
- Tap on i (app info) icon
- Tap on App battery usage
- Turn on the Allow background usage toggle
- Tap on Allow background usage option
- Tap on Unrestricted to make sure all the notification go through



Check Mobile data usage
When background data is enabled, an app can continue running and using your mobile data or Wi-Fi connection even when you’re not actively using it. This allows the app to receive notifications from online servers.
To make sure background data is turned on, follow these steps:
- Long-press the Sofascore app icon
- Tap on i (app info) icon
- Tap on Mobile data usage
- Turn on the Background data toggle


Deactivate Unused app settings
Android may automatically pause apps you haven’t used for a while. When an app is paused, it isn’t uninstalled - but its permissions are removed, temporary files are deleted, and notifications are stopped.
To re-activate the app, follow these steps:
- Long-press the Sofascore app icon
- Tap on i (app info) icon
- Turn off the option Manage app if unused

Turn off Adaptive battery
The Adaptive Battery feature on Android helps extend your phone’s battery life by limiting background activity and performance based on how you use your device. However, this optimization can sometimes delay or block app notifications.
Adaptive Battery is usually enabled by default, so if you’re missing notifications, you may want to turn it off by following these steps:
- Open your phone Settings
- Tap on Battery
- Tap on Battery Saver
- Tap on Adaptive Battery
- Turn off the Adaptive Battery toggle switch




Reinstall the App
If you’re still not receiving notifications, try reinstalling the app to ensure a clean setup:
- Uninstall the Sofascore app from your device
- Restart your phone
- Reinstall the app from the Google Play Store
- Add a live football or tennis match to your favorites and test if notifications are working properly
